Aloha from Hawaii: Day Three

A not-to-be-missed experience in Hawaii is taking a road trip to Hana. "The Road to Hana" as it is aptly referenced is quite the journey and not one for those prone to motion sickness. The trip took us 13 hours from start to finish, encompassed around 70 miles, 54 bridges, and over 600 (sharp) turns.

With a friendly narrated app as our guide (we affectionately referred to him as Buddy), we trekked across Maui, stopping at various noteworthy sites. Some of my favorites included the Garden of Eden, a beautiful arboretum highlighting unique tropical trees, plants, and flowers, visiting a black sand beach, cliff jumping at Wailua Falls (not me, mom, don't worry), and stopping for dinner in the town of Paia. It was a long, full, beautiful journey. We all slept well that night.
